Here are some guidelines that you must follow when cleaning (Provided by SYK Cleaning):

#1: Guide for cleaning top-loading washing machine

You must fill the bleach dispenser with the bleach. If you do not have a bleach dispenser, then simply add one and a half cup of bleach into the tub directly. Then, adjust the temperature to hot as the hot water will help to clean the tub efficiently. This will also help you to get rid of the grease and oils more effectively than cold water. Now you need to run the washer. This will swirl the bleach and hot water around the tub to clean it thoroughly. Pause the cycle as this will allow your machine to get soaked in the bleach water. After a few minutes, run the rinse cycle to ensure that there is no residual bleach in the tub of the washing machine.

#2: Guide for cleaning the front-loading washing machine

For this, you have to take a cup of bleach and 1 gallon of water. First, wipe down the door properly with this diluted bleach water. This area is quite prone to dirt and molds for the front-loading washing machines. Once it is done, you have to add the bleach inside the washer tub. Now close the door of the washing machine and set the washer to dispense hot water into the tub. When the water is full, run the washer so that the bleach water swirls around the tub to clean it completely. When it is done, let the bleach water sit for few minutes to eliminate excess dirt, molds and grease. Now rinse the tub properly.

#3: Guide to clean the surface

Cleaning washing machine with bleach is not limited to the tub. You can clean and wipe the surface with bleach water to remove any kind of stains, dirt and molds. For this, you have to use a mixture of 1 gallon of water with a cup of bleach. Remember to clean the compartments and drawers too with this diluted mixture.
